Analysts told about the return of New Year's goods to the seller
Every 14th New Year's item bought online in Russia was returned to the seller. This was reported to Izvestia on January 22 by analysts of ATOL Online, having analyzed the returns of goods
The study was carried out on the basis of anonymous sales data covering 10.8 million checks for the period from November 2024 to January 2025.
Experts noted that Russians returned every 14th New Year's Eve item. Carnival costumes were rejected the most in percentage terms, with shoppers returning every eighth item purchased in the category.
Also, 9% of the total purchases of Christmas balls, 8% of artificial Christmas trees and 6% of garlands were returned to the warehouses.
Earlier, on January 10, "Izvestia" got acquainted with the study of marketplace "Profi.ru", which reported that 48% of Russians surveyed exceeded the budget for New Year's celebrations. According to the study, a third of Russians (31%) spent from 70 thousand to 100 thousand rubles on New Year's holidays. The next most popular were expenses in the range of Br20-50 thousand (23%) and Br100-150 thousand (16%). Only 8% of respondents spent from Br150 thousand to Br200 thousand, from Br200 thousand to Br500 thousand - 4%, and from Br500 thousand to Br1 million and more - 2% of respondents.
