The head coach of Nizhnekamsk hockey club "Reactor" Igor Fedorov was disqualified for seven matches for provoking a mass brawl. This was reported on January 21 in the press service of the Youth Hockey League (MHL).
It is noted that video footage of the regular match between "Reactor" and "Irbis" (0:8), held on January 18, studied the Continental Hockey League (KHL).
"The league found that the head coach of "Reactor" Igor Fedorov provoked his team's hockey players into a mass brawl. Such actions threaten the integrity of the conduct of matches, as well as the life and health of hockey players," the league said in a statement.
Fedorov is suspended for the period from January 20 to February 5 inclusive. It is specified that earlier, in the seasons 2022-2023 and 2023-2024, the coach has already been sanctioned for similar violations.
Earlier, on January 19, the Moscow hockey club (HC) CSKA beat Sibir in the regular championship of the Continental Hockey League on a shootout. The main time of the match ended with the score 3:3. Forward Denis Guryanov scored the winning shot in the shootout.
