Airplane made an emergency landing due to engine failure in Buryatia
In Buryatia, the L-410 aircraft flying on the route Kyren - Ulan-Ude returned to the departure airfield in Tunka district of the republic due to engine failure, an investigative inspection has been organized. This was reported on January 21 in the Eastern Interregional Investigative Department on Transport (ISDT) of the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia.
"The L-410 airplane, which was on the Kyren - Ulan-Ude route, made a return to the Kyren landing site <...> due to technical reasons. The landing was made in normal mode. There are no casualties," the agency said in a statement on its website.
At the same time, the East Baikal investigative department on transport began an investigation organized under Article 263 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Violation of the rules of safety of movement and operation of air transport"). Law enforcement officers find out under what circumstances the incident with the airplane occurred.
Earlier, on December 1, 2024, a Robinson helicopter made a hard landing in Primorsky Krai near the landing site in the city of Artem. There were three people on board, they were not injured. The aircraft sustained damage to the steering and main propellers, tail beam and landing gear during the incident. Law enforcers have launched an investigation under Article 263 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
