Russian embassy says contacts with Turkish agencies over resort fire
The Russian Embassy in Turkey said on January 21 that it was in touch with local authorities on the subject of a major fire at the Kartalkaya ski resort in Bolu province.
"No information about Russian citizens has been received," the diplomats clarified in comments to RIA Novosti.
The large-scale night fire at the resort in Bolu became known earlier in the day. According to the latest data of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Turkey, as a result of the incident killed 66 people, suffered 51 people.
As reported by CNN Türk, the fire broke out in a wooden hotel at an altitude of 2.2 thousand meters at about 3:30 am, the flames spread quickly. There were almost 240 guests in the building. Many fire brigades, rescuers and medics were sent to the region.
