Student detained in Barnaul while attempting to commit a terrorist act on Kiev's assignment

A student of a college in Barnaul has been detained while attempting to commit a terrorist act on behalf of a Ukrainian terrorist organization. This was reported by the Public Relations Center (PRC) of the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) on 21 January.

It is noted that a Russian born in 2006, who opposes the special military operation in Ukraine, attempted to commit arson at one of the military commissariats of the region with the help of a device with incendiary mixture made by him.

As noted in the special service, in this way the student wanted to destabilize the work of the authorities and prevent the departure of the military for the special operation. The student was detained by the FSB officers in Altai Krai at the military enlistment office, preventing him from carrying out his plan. A criminal case of attempted terrorist act has been opened.

Before that, on January 5, teenagers accused of preparing a terrorist attack were arrested in Yekaterinburg. The press service of the Sverdlovsk Regional Court noted that two teenagers of 16 and 17 years old are charged under Part 1 of Article 30, paragraph "a" of Part 2 of Article 205 ("Terrorist act"), Part 2 of Article 223.1 ("Illegal manufacture of explosives"), paragraph "a" of Part 3 of Article 222.1 of the Criminal Code ("Illegal acquisition, transfer, sale and storage of explosives"). Another defendant, a 17-year-old college student, is charged under paragraph "a" of part 2 of article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Terrorist act").
