Russians unable to fly to Moscow from Havana, Cuba
Russian tourists were unable to fly to Moscow from Havana, Cuba. This was reported to Izvestia on January 21 by the director of the host company in the Latin American country, Alexander Karpetsky.
It was specified that the departure was scheduled for 09:00 (17:00 Moscow time) on January 20. The flight was carried out by the airline "Russia". The night before, tourists received a notice about the delay of departure for an hour.
"People arrived at the airport, checked in, got on board. What is characteristic, sat in the plane for some time, and, accordingly, they were taken out of the plane," Karpetsky said.
According to him, neither the airline nor the airport explained what was happening. Only 12 hours later everyone was redirected, presumably to one of the local hotels.
"A representative of Rossiya Airlines came, invited everyone to leave, they promised to provide them with a hotel and meals," Karpetsky emphasized.
At the moment there is no information about when the passengers will be able to fly to the Russian capital.
On January 3, the computer system for entry control by German police failed en masse at airports across the country. The problem was fixed after a few hours, but the glitch led to massive border control delays at several German airports, including those in Düsseldorf, Cologne/Bonn, as well as Berlin, Munich and Frankfurt. Passengers from non-Schengen countries stood in hours-long lines, and some airports canceled flights.
