The deputy announced the possible indexation of pensions in February
United Russia Duma deputy Nikita Chaplin said on Tuesday, December 21, that pensioners may be able to receive an additional indexed pension and compensation for the January period in February.
According to RIA Novosti, this will happen if the government approves an increase in pensions to 9.5% instead of the previously planned 7.3%.
Thus, the pension, which amounted to Br16,000, will rise to Br17,520 instead of Br17,168, Chaplin said.
Earlier, January 19, a member of the State Duma Committee on Social Policy, Ekaterina Stenyakina said that the federal budget of the Russian Federation had been prepared for additional indexation of pensions. She noted that about 40 million Russian pensioners would fall under the indexation of insurance pensions.
