UAV operators of the Vostok group of forces destroyed AFU artillery in the DNR
Operators of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) of the Vostok group of troops have destroyed self-propelled artillery units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the Donetsk People's Republic (DNR). This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry on January 21.
It is specified that in the course of active combat work in the South Donetsk direction, the operators of FPV-drones of the Vostok group of forces destroyed two Ukrainian self-propelled artillery units.
In addition, Russian reconnaissance, supporting the advance of assault units deep into the defense of Ukrainian formations, identified and hit a tank, two armored combat vehicles, engineering equipment and personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The defense ministry also recalled that over the past week, units of the Vostok group of forces, supported by artillery and unmanned aircraft, liberated two settlements - Vremivka and Neskuchnoye in the south of the DNR.
On January 18, as a result of successful offensive actions, the Russian Armed Forces liberated the settlements of Petropavlovka and Vremivka in the DNR.
The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was made against the backdrop of the aggravated situation in the region.
