Orban announces second phase of 'occupation of Brussels' with Trump's return
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban on January 20 announced the start of the second phase of the "occupation of Brussels" with the return of U.S. President Donald Trump.
"Congratulations to US President Donald Trump on his inauguration as the 47th President of the United States of America! Now it's our turn to shine! It's our turn to take over Brussels!" - wrote the prime minister on the X network (former Twitter).
Furthermore, Orban emphasized that Hungary expects peace, calm and economic recovery from Trump's presidency. At the same time, he pointed to the Democrats' repetitive strategy.
"When Donald Trump first won in 2016, the Democrats fled to Brussels. The same thing is happening now: the American trader George Soros lost the battle in America. Donald Trump has liberated America," he said on his Facebook page (owned by Meta, which is recognized as extremist and banned in Russia).
According to him, now there is a very difficult period for the Europeans, the goal of which is to get the Democrats out of Brussels.
"They need to be put on a ship and sent home to America. If we don't do that, Brussels will become the new Washington, then the American Democrats will continue in Brussels," Orban noted.
Earlier in the day, Trump took the oath of office in the Capitol rotunda, becoming the 47th president of the United States. Along with him, Vice President Jay Dee Vance was sworn in. This is Trump's second term as president, the first time he was the American leader from 2017-2021. In his inaugural speech, the new US president announced the beginning of the "golden age of America".
Before the ceremony, Trump and his wife Melania attended a tea party at the White House with outgoing President Joe Biden and his wife Jill.
The election of the 47th president of the United States was held on November 5. In the popular vote, Trump received 51% of the vote, while former U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris received 47.4%. Speaking to supporters, the Republican said that his goal as head of state considers the end of military conflicts in the world.
