- The father of the deceased basketball player Timma spoke about the difficult relationship with his son's family
The father of the deceased Latvian basketball player Janis Timma told Izvestia on January 21 that the former lead singer of the band "VIA Gra" Anna Sedokova was against his communication with his relatives.
"Nobody could know how it would end," said Raitis Timma.
According to Raitis, the athlete during his married life with Sedokova stopped communicating with his parents.
"We had good contacts. Well here was one accident when the dog Mamba was with us. She in the forest was hit by a car. And so on that day, it was November 11, 2021, the dog died, probably on the 13th, probably Janis or his wife thought it was my fault. And literally because of the dog that day, all communication ended with me. They blocked me there almost everywhere," he said.
That said, Raitis was hopeful that he could someday reconnect with his son.
"I always hoped and knew that someday it would all change. But unfortunately, it didn't in time. Well, I think it was none other than Anna who contributed to that. She herself is also not very fond of her family <...> So she decided that it is necessary to somehow make it so that Janis was also like that," - concluded the father of the basketball player.
Timma's death became known on December 17, 2024. It is noted that on his phone there was a screensaver with the inscription "Call Anna" and her phone number. The day before, he in social networks congratulated Sedokova on her birthday.
On December 25, the body of the basketball player was taken to Latvia for burial. The farewell was held in Riga on December 27. The funeral ceremony was held in the building of the crematorium.
In October 2024, it became known that Sedokova officially filed for divorce from Timma. They got married in September 2020. For the singer, this marriage became the third, for the athlete - the second. Common children they do not have.
January 15, forensic examination in Latvia allowed a criminal version of the death of Janis Timma. A friend of the athlete urged everyone to wait for the results of the investigation into the circumstances of Timma's death, which is being conducted in the country.
