Lance Sgt. Arsunkaev contributed to the destruction of BMP Bradley in the SWO zone
Junior Sergeant Abubakar Arsunkaev conducted artillery fire correction and contributed to the destruction of a US-made Bradley infantry fighting vehicle (IFV). On Tuesday, January 21, the Russian Defense Ministry reported on the exploits of Russian army servicemen while carrying out combat missions in the Special Military Operation (SMO) zone.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) were about to go on the offensive in one of the tactical directions and were pulling together military equipment and assault infantry groups in one place. At that time, Arsunkaev was on duty at the fire correction post, observing the movements of enemy equipment and determining its coordinates, after which he transmitted instructions to the artillerymen. Thanks to the junior sergeant's precise measurements, the Russian servicemen successfully eliminated the Bradley BMP and a significant number of AFU personnel. This thwarted the Ukrainian command's plans and forced the enemy to retreat.
The Russian Defense Ministry also noted the courage and professionalism of Guards Private Daniil Lobanov. The unit he was part of was defending one of the settlements in the SSO zone from the attacks of the AFU. The enemy once again hit the defended area with mortars. Despite the difficult weather conditions, Lobanov managed to locate a camouflaged position of the enemy mortar gun together with its crew with the help of a reconnaissance drone.
The guards private determined the coordinates of the detected target and transmitted them to his unit commander. A mortar strike was launched against the enemy. Some of the AFU personnel managed to hide in a ravine, which did not go unnoticed by Lobanov, who continued his surveillance. He transmitted new coordinates to the Russian mortars, and the remnants of the enemy armed formation were destroyed by a second strike.
Earlier, on January 20, the Russian Defense Ministry said that Senior Warrant Officer Gamid Dzharullaev was carrying out the task of delivering ammunition to Russian Armed Forces (AF) soldiers when his vehicle came under heavy mortar fire from the AFU and an FPV drone attack. Dzharullayev managed to steer the car away from the flight path of the kamikaze drone and took the vehicle out of the target zone of enemy mortars, delivering ammunition to the front line in time.
Before that, on January 19, the ministry noted the merits of Junior Sergeant Ilya Lukashov, who at an observation post in one of the defense areas detected the movement of a sabotage group of the AFU in the direction of Russian positions. Having equipped a place for firing, skillfully using the terrain conditions for cover, having waited for the enemy to be in ambush, he started firing at him. The enemy group suffered heavy losses within minutes, and the survivors fled, leaving the wounded behind. The Defense Ministry also noted the actions of Sergeant Nikolai Dvornikov, who detected two Ukrainian drones while advancing as part of the lead patrol. The drones were conducting reconnaissance on the path of the probable route of the Russian convoy.
