Alexei Pushkov, head of the Council of the Russian Federation's commission on information policy, called US President Donald Trump's inauguration speech a monstrous blow to the EU on January 20.

"A monstrous blow to the entire social doctrine and 'values' of the ruling European liberal elite: from now on, only two genders - male and female - will be recognized in the United States," he wrote in his Telegram channel.

Pushkov said that Trump's speech actually exploded the system of "common values" that united the U.S. and the EU. In addition, in his opinion, the president declared war on the liberal censorship reigning in the British, French, German media.

"A veritable nightmare for the ears of euro-liberals! Von der Leyen is silent (European Commission President Ursula - Ed.), MEPs in Brussels are silent, all leading European capitals are silent. They have no words, only feelings ... And bad feelings," the senator concluded.

Earlier in the day, Trump took the oath of office in the rotunda of the Capitol, becoming the 47th President of the United States, reports "Gazeta.Ru". Along with him, Vice President Jay Dee Vance was sworn in. This is the second presidential term of Trump, the first time he was the American leader in 2017-2021. In his inaugural speech, the new US president announced the beginning of the "golden age of America".

Before the ceremony, Trump and his wife Melania attended a tea party at the White House with outgoing President Joe Biden and his wife Jill.

The election of the 47th president of the United States was held on November 5. In the popular vote, Trump received 51% of the vote, while former U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris received 47.4%. Speaking to supporters, the Republican said that his goal as head of state considers the end of military conflicts in the world.
