Orban predicts the end of the Western-formed world order
The world order founded by the West has come to an end. This statement was made by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban on January 20 at a press conference in Budapest on the results of Hungary's presidency of the Council of the European Union (EU).
"We are living in a period of changing world order, in the years of the rise of East Asia. The world order as we knew it until now, which was shaped by the West, namely the dominant Anglo-Saxons, has come to an end," he said during a speech published on the politician's YouTube channel.
According to him, the world's leading powers are currently forming their own centers of power, as well as new economic, political and cultural frameworks. The Hungarian prime minister noted that Europeans will live within this framework for many decades.
Orbán also emphasized that the world powers are preparing for the new era "with great enthusiasm" and are making efforts to create new geopolitical structures in order to ensure the security of states.
In addition, he emphasized that the Western model of liberal democracy had failed because of its own mistakes. At the same time, Orban noted that the liberal policy of Western countries works against themselves.
According to him, Americans have already realized the situation when they voted for US President-elect Donald Trump in the elections. The Hungarian prime minister specified that Washington's policy may now change course towards conservative values. In this regard, he considers a possible confrontation between the US and Brussels, which adheres to liberal policies.
Earlier, on September 4, 2024, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Tsargrad Group of Companies Konstantin Malofeev said that a new world order is emerging in Southeast Asia. He also noted that the world in which the United States dominates other states has outlived itself.
At the same time, he emphasized that in Asia there is "a normal world in which there are economic, political, cultural interests, but no one forces the other, does not dictate to him and does not interfere with the economy with politics".
