The driver who "undercut" the car that fell into the Obvodny channel has been given a preventive measure

The driver of the Škoda Daniil Morozov, who cut the Mercedes that fell into the Obvodny Channel, was banned from certain actions. This was reported by a correspondent of "Izvestia" from the hall of the Moscow District Court on January 20.

The investigators insisted on house arrest, noting that the detainee may abscond. The court refused such a measure, banning Morozov from driving, using means of communication and leaving the territory of St. Petersburg for the entire period of the preliminary investigation.

It is known that the man had no previous convictions. Morozov himself asked to elect a measure of restraint not connected with restriction of freedom, stating that he tried to help on the spot.

Earlier, on January 18, at the unregulated intersection of Obvodnoy Canal Embankment and Rybinskaya Street, 37-year-old Morozov did not give advantage in traffic and collided with Mercedes. As a result, the foreign car was turned around, the car sharply started moving towards the Obvodny Channel, broke through the fence and fell into the water. The 37-year-old driver and her 14-year-old daughter died.

A criminal case has been opened. Morozov was detained the day after the accident, January 19.
