All Russians surveyed said they plan to spend the May holidays traveling. At the same time, 60% of respondents will be in their region — they will go out of town to nature, cottage, campsite or camping, follows from the results of a study of the Kupibilet air and railway ticket purchase service, which was reviewed by Izvestia on January 21.

Travel in Russia (Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kislovodsk, Kazan, Sochi, Sevastopol, etc.) is also popular: 28% of respondents plan to travel to Russian cities by plane; 8% will go to the mountains (Caucasus, Altai, etc.). Foreign trips are less popular: only 4% of respondents are going to Europe or Asia.

At the same time, 11% of the study participants already have booked tickets and have fully planned their vacation, including the route, accommodation and entertainment; 20% of respondents have a rough idea of the trip — they know the destination or type of vacation, but the details have not yet been worked out; 33% of respondents are actively looking for options, considering various offers and comparing prices. Another 36% of the respondents have not decided on a specific plan.

Experts found that 35% of Russians put from 10 thousand to 30 thousand rubles on vacation, 33% will allocate from 30 thousand to 50 thousand rubles for a trip; 22% will spend up to 10 thousand rubles; 7% have an amount from 50 thousand to 80 thousand rubles; and 3% — from 80 thousand to 100 thousand rubles.

"Leisure planning for the May holidays shows an interesting picture reflecting the current economic realities and tourist preferences of Russians. Although 100% of the respondents plan a trip, the degree of readiness for it varies, which indicates different approaches to organizing a vacation. Most of the respondents are actively searching, which indicates high competition in the travel services market and the need for careful comparison of offers," said Andrey Maslak, Product Director at Kupibilet.

According to him, the average budget, estimated at about 30 thousand rubles per person, indicates the predominance of middle-class trips and, perhaps, is due to the fact that a significant number of people will travel only for part of the weekend. "However, the significant share of tourists with a limited budget (10 thousand rubles) and the presence of people with a high budget (more than 50 thousand rubles) demonstrate a clear segmentation of the market," Maslak added.

Earlier, on January 14, it was reported that in February more tourists will travel around the country. This follows from the data of the OneTwoTrip travel planning service. Thus, the share of hotel orders in Russia increased by 8% over the year and stands at 43%. The most popular cities among tourists are Moscow, Esto-Sadok, and St. Petersburg.
