Media reported 11 injured when barge collides with ferry in Germany
Two ships collided on the Elbe River in the German city of Hamburg, resulting in 11 people injured. This was reported by the German newspaper Bild on January 20.
The ferry Övelgönne was heading to the Dockland pier. When turning, it collided with a tugboat and a barge attached to it.
As a result, the ferry broke apart above the waterline. There were a total of 25 people on board, with 11 of them injured. One of the passengers received a life-threatening head injury, three others received moderate injuries.
Earlier, on January 7, the TV channel BFMTV reported that two ferries collided off the coast of the French department of Mayotte in the Indian Ocean, on one of the vessels was the head of the parliamentary faction of the party "National Union" Marine Le Pen. As a result of the collision of the ships, most of the passengers fell on the deck, three of them received various injuries. The politician, in her turn, managed to stay in place and was not injured.
