A nutritionist gave advice on how to restore the body after a feast
Overeating and drinking alcohol are not so critical to health if it happens only once. However, if this lifestyle continues for a long time and becomes habitual, it can lead to undesirable consequences. In order not to find yourself in an unhealthy mode, it is worth following some rules. Mariana Dzhutova, a nutritionist of JSC "Medicine" (clinic of Academician Roitberg), told "Izvestia" on January 21 what should be done after a festive feast.
According to her, you should drink a cup of black coffee without sugar or green tea. These drinks are full of antioxidants and will help you feel better.
In addition, you shouldn't overeat after the holiday.
"Eat only when you are hungry, giving preference to foods containing fiber. For example, oatmeal on water with apples or pears will be a great choice. Such a breakfast will quickly bring your digestive system to normal. It is also useful to drink a glass of juice - the fructose in it will help to remove alcohol residue from the body faster," the expert explained.
If a heavy feast with fatty food and alcohol lasted more than one day, the nutritionist advised to switch to complex carbohydrates with high fiber content. You need to include oats, brown rice and quinoa in your diet.
"Instead of fatty meats, opt for chicken or fish, and add steamed vegetables, fresh avocados and nuts. The fiber in these foods will help normalize blood sugar levels and reduce the load on the liver and pancreas," Dzhutova emphasized.
The doctor noted that it is not necessary to be actively engaged in sports at once. She recommended to increase physical activity gradually, only after you manage to establish nutrition. In addition, you should eat more vegetables, such as pumpkin, cabbage, carrots, carrots, beets, parsnips, turnips, onions and garlic.
"Don't torture yourself with starvation or strict diets. Long walks in the fresh air, breathing practices and yoga will help prepare your body for more intense workouts in the gym," the expert said.
In addition, the expert gave some tips on preparing a festive feast. She advised to replace salad with mayonnaise with fresh vegetable salad with olive oil and lemon juice. She also called such a dish with seafood a useful option.
"Hot dishes are better served without the usual side dishes - potatoes and rice, ideally combining meat or fish with fresh vegetables. In addition, goose or duck can be replaced with more dietary turkey meat," Dzhutova added.
Champagne is best not consumed on an empty stomach. You should also avoid sweet wines, cocktails and liqueurs, because alcoholic drinks, in addition to high calories, can increase appetite. At the same time for dessert, according to the doctor, it is better to prepare puddings, mousses or jellies.
Earlier, on January 8, the doctor-endocrinologist of "SM-Clinica" Ekaterina Kazachkova told "Izvestia" that salmon, mackerel, sardines are rich in omega-3 fatty acids. They help regulate the production of hormones, reduce inflammation in the body and support the health of the thyroid gland. According to the doctor, it is enough to include two to three servings of fish in the menu per week to notice positive changes.
