SsangYong Rexton SUV will return to Russia under a different brand

Sales of the new Korean Rexton SUV from KGM, which was previously sold in Russia under the SsangYong brand, will start in Russia in early 2025. The model will be presented in two configurations, according to the message of KGM's distributor, Rex Motors, which was received by Izvestia on January 20.

Rexton for the Russian market received a gasoline two-liter turbo engine with 225 hp (350 Nm) combined with a 6-speed automatic transmission Aisin and all-wheel drive with a connected reduction gear. Depending on the equipment Rexton is equipped with 18-inch or 20-inch alloy wheels and a full-size spare tire. The length of the model is 4850 mm, wheelbase - 2865 mm.

The list of equipment includes two screens with a diagonal of 12.3 inches, Russified media system with support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, heated steering wheel, electric adjustment, heating and ventilation of the front seats, power tailgate, a system of circular vision, various electronic assistants, heated second-row seats. Trunk volume is 1051 liters. Three seats of the second row can be folded in the proportion of 60:40, increasing the luggage space up to 1977 liters.

KGM Rexton will be the fourth model of the brand in Russia after previously announced crossovers Tivoli, Korando and Torres. All cars are produced in South Korea, they are promised five-year support in the Russian market. SsangYong cars were sold in Russia since the mid-1990s, in 2018 the brand officially left the market. The company's return to the Russian Federation was announced in early November 2024.

Earlier, on January 20, it became known that Changan renamed the CS55 Plus crossover in the Russian market. The model joined the lineup of cars Uni and was named Uni-S.
