Russia and Zimbabwe sign an agreement in the field of health care

Russian Health Minister Mikhail Murashko and his Zimbabwean counterpart Douglas Mombeshor held a meeting on Monday, January 20, during which they signed an intergovernmental agreement on cooperation in healthcare, medical education and science.

The meeting was held at the Ministry of Health.

It follows from the text of the agreement that the parties develop cooperation based on the principles of equality, consideration of mutual interests, as well as in accordance with the legislation of the states.

Cooperation between Russia and Zimbabwe will cover such areas as organization of the national health care system, treatment of infectious and non-infectious diseases, including prevention, diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular, oncological, endocrine and other diseases.

Under the signed agreement, the parties intend to exchange regulatory, statistical and analytical data. In addition, the Russian Federation and Zimbabwe are going to exchange specialists, teachers and students in order to attract them to participate in congresses, scientific conferences and other events.

Earlier, on January 15, the head of the Russian Ministry of Agriculture Oksana Loot together with the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development of the Central African Republic Gismala Hamza signed a memorandum in the field of agriculture. During the meeting, they discussed the development of bilateral trade, as well as cooperation in science and technology, breeding and seed production.
