Kudermetova lost to Svitolina and did not reach the quarterfinals of the Australian Open

Russian tennis player Veronika Kudermetova lost to Ukrainian player Elina Svitolina in the fourth round match of the Australian Open and failed to reach the quarterfinals of the tournament.

The meeting was held on January 20 in Melbourne and ended with the score 6:4, 6:1 in favor of Svitolina. The Russian tennis player played at the competition without a seeding number. The duration of the match was 1 hour and 23 minutes.

In the next match Svitolina will meet the winner of the meeting between American athlete Madison Keys and tennis player from Kazakhstan Elena Rybakina.

Earlier, January 19, it was reported that the Russian tennis player Mirra Andreeva lost to an athlete from Belarus Arina Sobolenko in the fourth round match of the Australian Open with a score of 1:6, 2:6. The 17-year-old Russian reached the 1/8 finals of the Australian Open for the second time in a row.
