The State Duma reminded about fines for improper disposal of Christmas trees
A fine of up to 4 thousand rubles can be obtained for improper disposal of Christmas trees. About it on January 20 "RIA Novosti" told the first Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on construction and housing and communal services Vladimir Koshelev.
"A live fir tree refers to bulky waste, so it is impossible to throw it into a container for solid municipal waste. You will have to pay a fine from 2 to 3 thousand rubles, and in case of repeated violation within a year - from 3 to 4 thousand rubles," he said.
Koshelev noted that the spruce should be sawed to throw it into a regular trash can, as according to GOST R 56195-2014 a regular street container is suitable for disposal of only small-sized waste. He also reminded about initiatives to collect Christmas trees in large Russian cities, with the help of which it is possible not only to dispose of Christmas trees correctly, but also to help nature.
"Every year in major cities of Russia create specialized points where you can hand over Christmas trees. They will be turned into wood chips, which will be used to fertilize the soil in parks, or given for bedding and food for animals, for example, in a zoo. Another way of utilization, as close to natural as possible, is to bury them in the yard at the dacha," Koshelev pointed out.
In addition, it is important not to forget about the ways of utilization of artificial fir trees, which are made of PVC and rubber. Such materials are almost impossible to recycle, and they themselves do not decompose. Therefore, artificial Christmas trees most often end up in landfills, he noted.
Earlier, on January 8, experts of the network of goods for construction and home improvement "Lemana PRO" told "Izvestia" how to properly dispose of Christmas trees and where it can be handed over. Experts recommend several ways of responsible disposal of Christmas trees. For example, you can take the tree to special collection points for recycling.
