Artillerymen of the Dnipro group of forces hit a group of AFU infantry in Zaporizhzhya
Artillerymen of the anti-tank division of the 58th Combined Arms Army of the Dnipro group of troops have hit a group of infantry of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), which was located in a residential building, and a warehouse with ammunition of the enemy in the Orekhovskoye direction in Zaporizhzhya Region. This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry on January 20.
"We are carrying out tasks to destroy the enemy on the line of contact. Information from intelligence agencies comes to the control center, after which we set the task to the unit commander to destroy the object. <...> We can work on different targets with one gun," said the division's chief of staff with the call sign Liman.
The artillerymen received data on the exact location of enemy targets from scouts and unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) operators. The Russian servicemen then pointed their guns and hit the targets with precise shots.
The artillerymen work daily and can use various types of ammunition for their work, the ministry noted. They continue to perform firing tasks to suppress artillery batteries and control points of the AFU, as well as to destroy equipment, manpower and warehouses with weapons of the enemy.
Earlier, on January 19, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that tankers of the Center group of troops destroyed an AFU stronghold in the Krasnoarmeysk direction. Russian servicemen received coordinates from scouts, went to a firing position and then destroyed the stronghold at a distance of up to 5 kilometers.
