US-UK relations are set to strengthen after US President-elect Donald Trump takes office. British Prime Minister Keir Starmer said on January 19.

"On behalf of His Majesty's Government and the United Kingdom, I would like to warmly congratulate President Donald Trump on his inauguration <...> given President Trump's long-standing affection and historic ties with the United Kingdom, I know that the depth of friendship will continue," his words were quoted on the British government's website.

He specified that the UK and the US intend to deepen transatlantic relations and invest in their development. Also, according to the Prime Minister, under Trump, the relations between the two states should reach a new level.

In addition, Starmer reported on the desire to hold a meeting with the US President-elect in the near future to discuss the issues of "common mission to ensure peace" and security of the two countries.

Earlier, on January 18, the British newspaper Daily Mail reported that members of Trump's compadres are helping opposition British politician Nigel Farage in his fight for the post of Prime Minister of the United Kingdom in retaliation to the Labor government, which helped the election campaign of Kamala Harris. Key Trump advisers are also debating whether to put British Prime Minister Keir Starmer "at the back of the queue" of world leaders.
