Investigation launched in Tuva after reports of beatings of servicemen
In the Tyva Republic, law enforcement agencies have launched an investigation after information emerged that one of the military units had recorded cases of ill-treatment of military personnel entering the contract service. This was reported on January 19 in the press service of the regional government.
According to the instruction of the head of the Tyva Republic Vladislav Khovalyg, the regional government took control of the investigation of incidents involving military personnel after several relevant videos were circulated in social networks and messengers.
"In one of them, it is reported that on January 16, 2025, the military unit No. 55115 recorded cases of ill-treatment of contract workers, including beatings and the use of tasers before they were sent to the SSO zone," the press service clarified.
Timur Kuular, special representative of the head of the Tyva Republic on the issues of SSO, said that the investigative-operative group of the military-investigation committee and the military prosecutor's office are working on this fact. It is emphasized that the guilty persons have already been identified, an investigative check is being conducted against them.
