More than 1.8 thousand Russian citizens were denied entry to Mexico during the past year. This was reported to "Izvestia" by the Russian ambassador to the Latin American country Nikolai Sofinsky.

"According to the data of the migration service of Mexico, at the end of 2022, the number of Russian citizens entering Mexico amounted to 91.1 thousand, in 2023 - 62.6 thousand, in 2024 - 33.4 thousand. denied entry: 2022 - more than 1 thousand, 2023 - 2.1 thousand, 2024 - 1.8 thousand," - said the ambassador.

Refusals to Russians to enter Mexico have become more frequent since February 2024. Most often it happened during transfers in Istanbul.
