Analyst points to problems in UK over Ukraine aid
UK residents have faced a lot of problems because of the aid to Ukraine. This was reported by British analyst Alexander Mercouris on the air of the YouTube channel The Duran on January 19.
He noted that the British side has handed over more of its best weapons to Ukraine.
"The military is now desperately short of weapons, they are in a state of crisis," Mercouris said.
According to the expert, the British government cannot explain the lack of gas in the country. In addition, the lives of Britons have been negatively affected by tax increases and other measures to which the state budget deficit has led.
Earlier, on January 16, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer arrived in Kiev. During the visit, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky (term of office expired in May 2024) and Starmer signed an agreement on strategic partnership between the countries.
At the same time, the British government announced military aid to Ukraine in the amount of a record £4.5 billion (almost $5.5 billion) in 2025.
After that, on January 18, David Curtin, leader of the British Heritage Party, called on the authorities to normalize relations with Russia. He noted that Starmer is focused on the interests of globalists to the detriment of the interests of the British people.
Western countries have stepped up military and financial support for Ukraine amid Russia's special operation to defend Donbass, which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, after the situation in the region worsened due to shelling by the Ukrainian military.
