Cleaning from fuel oil around the stern of the tanker Volgoneft-239 was completed
In Kuban, specialists have cleaned the Black Sea water area around the stern of the wrecked tanker "Volgoneft-239". This was reported on January 19 by the Krasnodar region's operative staff in the Telegram-channel.
"The water area of the closed bay at the stern of the tanker "Volgoneft-239" cleaned from fuel oil", - stated in the message.
It is reported that at night excavators collected the remains of fuel oil, as well as pulled out of the water and sent for disposal hog barriers.
Work continues to clean up the water area around the remainder of the tanker.
On the same day it was reported that access roads were laid to the tanker "Volgoneft-239" to prevent new releases of fuel oil from the stern of the tanker.
Earlier, on January 17, Oleg Chelyadinov, deputy head of the Krasnodar regional emergency rescue service "Kuban-SPAS" said that the removal of sand contaminated with fuel oil from the main area of beaches in Anapa was completed. It was reported that the number of vehicles on the main part of the coastline was being reduced as the work had been successfully completed.
The tankers Volgoneft-212 andVolgoneft-239crashed in the Kerch Strait on December 15, 2024 due to bad weather. The incident resulted in a spill of oil products. 27 people were evacuated from both vessels, one person died.
