Media reported about almost threefold reduction of fruit and vegetable supplies from Russia to the EU

In 2024, Russia began to export to the European Union (EU) fruits, nuts and vegetables almost three times less than in 2023. This became known on January 19 from the data of the statistical service Eurostat, which was studied by "RIA Novosti".

In total, the EU purchased the listed products from January to November last year in the amount of € 121.1 million, which is 2.8 times lower than in the same months of 2023.

Europeans purchased the largest amount of vegetables, mainly legumes: they cost them €84 million. At the same time, the total cost of nuts and fruits purchased in Russia for the same period amounted to €17.1 million.

Earlier, on January 18, it was reported that the EU has doubled imports of pharmaceutical products from Russia in annual terms by November 2024. In total, in the first 11 months of 2024, the EU purchased pharmaceutical products worth €38.8 million, which is 18% higher than in 2023.
