The Epiphany celebrations in Russia are taking place without incidents and with observance of order. This was reported by the official representative of the Russian Interior Ministry Irina Volk on January 19.

"Employees of the Russian Interior Ministry ensured public order during the events dedicated to the celebration of the Epiphany," - wrote Volk in Telegram-channel.

She noted that during worship services and bathing, order and security was ensured by about 32,500 internal affairs officers, as well as representatives of the Rosgvardia, private security organizations and employees of the Russian Emergencies Ministry.

Volk added that there were no violations of public order.

On the night of January 19, Orthodox believers celebrate the Epiphany, or Epiphany. This holiday is considered one of the most ancient and revered in Christian culture. In 2025, the celebration falls on Sunday.

Earlier, on January 18, the head of the Russian Emergencies Ministry Alexander Kurenkov said that more than 7 thousand EMERCOM rescuers will ensure safety during the Epiphany bathing in Russia from January 18 to 19. According to the Russian Emergencies Ministry, the rescuers also measured the thickness of ice on the places equipped for baptismal bathing and checked fire safety in churches and temples, where services will be held.

In Moscow, 42 sites in different administrative districts have been prepared for baptismal bathing. Lifeguards will be on duty at these sites during the baptismal bathing. Also this year additional patrolling by hovercrafts will be introduced.
