The AFU lost more than 210 soldiers over the day on the Kursk direction
The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) have lost more than 210 soldiers in Kursk Region over the past 24 hours. This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry on January 19.
"Over the day the losses of the AFU amounted to more than 210 servicemen, an infantry fighting vehicle, five armored fighting vehicles, six vehicles, an artillery gun and a mortar were destroyed," - noted in the message.
In addition, the Russian military struck the AFU's manpower and equipment in the settlements of Viktorovka, Vladimirovka, Zaoleshenka, Kositsa, Kruglenkoe, Kubatkin, Kurilovka, Lebedevka, Loknya, Martynovka, Melovoy, Oleshnya, as well as Basovka, Belovody, Veselovka, Zhuravka, Yunakovka and Cherkasskoye Porechnoye with strikes of operational-tactical artillery.
It is also reported that the grouping of troops "North" defeated the formations of tank, heavy mechanized, four mechanized, two airborne assault brigades, a brigade of marines and three brigades of territorial defense of the AFU in 11 localities.
Earlier in the day it became known that servicemen of the "West" group of forces destroyed a Starlink satellite communication station, 13 drone control points and a field ammunition depot of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).
The AFU attacked Russian positions in the border areas of the Kursk region on August 6, 2024. The situation in the region was recognized as a state of emergency of federal character. The liquidation of the Ukrainian militants who invaded the Russian territory is underway.
The special operation to protect Donbass, the beginning of which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
