Russian Armed Forces liberate the village of Vozdvizhenka in the DNR
Soldiers of the Center group of troops have liberated the village of Vozdvizhenka in the Donetsk People's Republic (DNR). This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry on January 19.
"The units of the Center troops group have liberated the settlement of Vozdvizhenka of the Donetsk People's Republic," the report noted.
In addition, the Russian army defeated the manpower and equipment of seven mechanized, motorized infantry brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) and an assault brigade of the National Police in the areas of Petrovka, Dzerzhinsk, Solyonoye, Ukrainka, Novovasilievka, Shevchenko, Novoelizavetovka, Lysovka, as well as Peschanoye and Slavyanka in the DNR.
Ukrainian militants in this direction lost 535 servicemen, two American-made M113 and Finnish-made Pasi armored personnel carriers, as well as 10 vehicles and five artillery pieces during the day.
Earlier in the day it became known that servicemen of the "West" group of forces destroyed a Starlink satellite communication station, 13 drone control points and a field ammunition depot of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).
On the previous day, the Defense Ministry reported that the Russian army had liberated the settlements of Petropavlovka and Vremivka in the DNR as a result of successful offensive actions.
The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
