Umar Nurmagomedov lost to Dvalishvili in a UFC flyweight title fight
Russian mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter Umar Nurmagomedov lost to Georgian Merab Dvalishvili in a fight for the Absolute Fighting Championship (UFC) lightweight title. The fight took place on January 19 in Los Angeles.
The fight lasted all five rounds, the judges unanimously gave the victory to Dvalishvili.
Umar Nurmagomedov is the 2016 Russian MMA champion, as well as a multiple Thai boxing champion of Dagestan. He is the cousin of former UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov.
Earlier, on January 12, it was reported that Russian mixed martial arts fighter Roman Kopylov defeated American Chris Curtis by knockout at UFC Fight Night in Las Vegas. The middleweight fight lasted three rounds.
