UAVs of the "South" group of forces destroyed AFU equipment and personnel in the DNR

Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) of the Southern Group of Forces have destroyed equipment and personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in several areas of the special military operation (SMO) in the Donetsk People's Republic (DNR). This was announced by the Russian Defense Ministry on January 19.

According to the ministry, drone crews are carrying out strikes on enemy personnel and equipment around the clock. In particular, in the Kurakhov direction the Air Defense Forces detected and destroyed a dugout with Ukrainian fighters, and in the northern direction at night successfully destroyed an AFU vehicle and disrupted the rotation of enemy positions.

Earlier, on January 17, snipers of the Ivanovo Guards Airborne Troops destroyed three "Baba Yaga" type UAVs of the AFU overnight and disrupted the enemy's rotation in the area of a refractory plant in the locality of Chasov Yar in the DNR. Thanks to the work of the Russian Armed Forces, the AFU riggers and the rotation shift were unable to carry out measures to replace and deliver ammunition and food.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was made against the backdrop of the worsening situation in the region.
