Tankers of the "Center" group of troops destroyed an AFU stronghold in the SSO zone

Tankers of the Center troops group have destroyed a Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU) stronghold on the Krasnoarmeyskoye direction. This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry on January 19.

According to the ministry, after the operators of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) identified enemy firing points in advance, the tankers, having received the coordinates of the target, entered the firing position.

Despite the fact that the soldiers were under constant enemy fire, the tankers successfully destroyed the stronghold at a range of up to 5 kilometers, the Russian Defense Ministry said. At the same time, the fire was corrected by UAV operators of the Center group of troops.

Earlier, on January 16, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that the crew of a T-72B3 tank of the Center group of troops destroyed an AFU stronghold on the Krasnoarmeyskoye direction. The tankers arrived at a closed firing position and struck the enemy from a distance of up to 8 kilometers.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the beginning of which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was made against the backdrop of the worsening situation in the region.
