Su-34 fighter crew destroys AFU equipment in the Kursk Region border area
The crew of the Su-34 multifunctional supersonic fighter-bomber of the Russian Air Force destroyed armored vehicles and personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the border area of Kursk Region. This was reported in the Russian Defense Ministry on January 19.
At the same time, the ministry noted that the strike on the reconnaissance targets of the enemy was carried out by aviation bombs with a universal planning and correction module (UMPK).
It is specified that the crew, having received confirmation from intelligence about the destruction of targets, safely returned to the airfield of departure.
The day before, on January 18, it was reported that the crew of the Ka-52M helicopter disrupted the rotation of AFU units in the Kursk border area. Having destroyed armored vehicles and personnel of the militants' units, the servicemen performed anti-missile maneuvering at extremely low altitude with the firing of heat traps, the ministry noted.
The AFU attacked Russian positions in the border areas of the Kursk region on August 6, 2024. The situation in the region was recognized as a state of emergency of federal character. The liquidation of the Ukrainian militants who invaded the Russian territory is underway.
The special operation to protect Donbass, the beginning of which was announced by the President of the Russian Federation on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the worsening situation in the region.
