A criminal case has been opened over the death of children in a fire in the Kursk Region

The investigative department has opened a criminal case over the death of two children in a fire in the village of Cheremisinovo in Kursk region. This was reported on January 18 in the regional investigative Department of the IC of Russia.

"A criminal case has been opened on the grounds of a crime under part 3 of article 109 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Causing death by negligence to two or more persons"), on the fact of the death of two young children in a fire in the village of Cheremisinovo in the Kursk region," the department said in its Telegram channel.

Investigators are working at the scene together with employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Emergency Situations. The place of the fire is also being examined, eyewitnesses are being questioned, the circumstances of the incident and the cause of the fire are being established.

Later in the agency specified that the children of one and three years old at the time of the incident were alone in the house. The investigation of the criminal case continues.

About the fire in a private two-family house in the village of Cheremisinovo, Kursk region, as a result of which two children died, reported in the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia earlier in the day. Twelve specialists and four units of equipment worked at the scene of the fire.
