Yemeni Houthis struck the Israeli Defense Ministry in Tel Aviv with a ballistic missile. Yahya Saria, a military spokesman for the Ansar Allah movement, said in a Telegram channel on January 18.

"The missile forces of the Yemeni Armed Forces <...> conducted a specific military operation <...> on the so-called Ministry of Defense of the Israeli enemy in the occupied Jaffa (Tel Aviv. - Ed.) area," the report said.

According to Saria that the missile reached the target with high accuracy and the interception systems failed to stop it.

Earlier, on January 14, Yemen's Ansar Allah movement reported hitting the Israeli Defense Ministry building in Tel Aviv in the third attack on the Israeli side in 12 hours. It added that interceptor systems failed to stop the missile and the target was hit.

On January 13, Saria announced a missile strike on a facility in Israeli Tel Aviv. He also specified that the Houthi air force also hit "vital targets" of Israel in Tel Aviv with four drones.

The situation in the Middle East escalated on the morning of October 7, 2023, when the Palestinian radical movement Hamas subjected Israel's territory to a massive rocket attack from the Gaza Strip. On the same day, Israel began retaliatory strikes.
