Trump announced the release of his memcoin
U.S. President-elect Donald Trump announced the launch of the $TRUMP memcoin on January 18 on his social media pages X (formerly Twitter) and Truth Social.
Trump also attached a link to a website where you can purchase the memcoin with a debit card or cryptocurrency to the posts.
"There are $200 million $TRUMP available on day one and the total will grow to $1 billion $TRUMP within three years," the site reads.
The mock currency's slogan is "Fight, fight, fight." Those words were uttered by Trump after an assassination attempt on him. Potential memcoin buyers are encouraged to "get their own piece of history" and join the community of the future US president.
Users in the comments suggested that Trump's accounts had been hacked, but the posts were not deleted.
The inauguration ceremony of the President-elect of the United States will be held on January 20, 2025. On the eve of Trump said that the venue was moved by his personal order to the rotunda of the United States Capitol because of bad weather. The Washington Post, in turn, told of thousands of Americans who had been preparing for Trump's inauguration for months and were caught off guard by the order to move the ceremony indoors.
The US Congress on January 6 approved Trump's victory in the 60th presidential election held on November 5, 2024. The decision was announced by incumbent US Vice President Kamala Harris, who had vied with Trump as a candidate.
