Former UFC champion Khabib Nurmagomedov supported Armenian-Russian Arman Tsarukyan, who withdrew due to injury from his bout at UFC 311 in California against Russian Islam Makhachev. The tournament will take place on the night of January 19.

"It can happen to anyone. If you remember 2017, March, it happened to me too. I just want to wish him all the best," MMA Fighting portal quotes the Russian former belt holder as saying.

Nurmagomedov emphasized that Tsarukyan should get over this situation and come back.

After Tsarukyan's withdrawal, Brazilian Renato Moicano became the Russian Makhachev's new opponent. He was originally scheduled to fight in the main card of UFC 311 against American Beneil Dariush.

Earlier on January 12, Russian mixed martial arts fighter Roman Kopylov defeated American Chris Curtis by knockout at UFC Fight Night in Las Vegas. The middleweight fight lasted three rounds.
