- In Kamchatka, 36 patients at an oncology clinic have contracted hepatitis B and C diseases
In the Kamchatka regional oncologic dispensary 36 patients were infected with hepatitis B and C. This was reported by the head of the Ministry of Health of the region Alexander Gashkov on January 18.
"At the moment 36 patients with acute forms of viral hepatitis B and C have been recorded. Each patient has been sampled. Moreover, a certain number of patients have already undergone therapy," Gashkov said.
It is reported that lists of all patients who received medical care in this direction in 2023 and 2024 have been compiled. An epidemiological investigation is underway on the fact of infection of people
The Investigative Committee of the Investigative Committee of Russia for Kamchatka Krai reported in its Telegram channel that a criminal case was opened under part 2 of article 293 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Negligence"). Investigative actions aimed at detailed establishment of all circumstances of the case are being carried out.
According to the agency, the infection of at least nine citizens in 2024 occurred due to violations during the provision of medical care.
Earlier, on October 24, it became known that hepatitis A was detected in kindergarten № 113 in St. Petersburg, its work was suspended. The educational process was suspended by the decree of Rospotrebnadzor. The number of sick people was not given.
