Vilfand told about the weather in the Moscow region on the baptismal night
On the baptismal night in Moscow and the region there may be strong wind up to 17 m/s, and the air temperature will drop to -4 degrees Celsius. This was reported on January 18 by the scientific head of the Russian Hydrometeorological Center Roman Vilfand.
"On January 19, the night temperature will be negative, but in sleeping areas - -1...-2 degrees, in the center - about 0, in the region to -4 <...> there will be a strengthening of the wind, during the day the wind is north-westerly with gusts of 6-11 m/s, but at night it will develop up to 17 m/s, on the baptismal night," he told TASS.
At the same time, on Monday, January 20, the night temperature will be 0 degrees, in the afternoon its value may rise to +3 degrees. The next day, Tuesday, January 21, will be much colder, the night temperature may drop to -8, and during the day - to -4.
In addition, Vilfand said that January 22 and 23 will be cloudy weather with light precipitation, at night - to -5, during the day - to +1 degree.
Earlier, January 17, specialist of the agency "Meteonovosti" Tatyana Pozdnyakova reported that in Moscow in February the air temperature will be above the climatic norm. She specified that there is no exact forecast for the second month of winter yet, but seasonal forecast models indicate that February will be warmer.
Before that, on January 16, during a press conference at the Izvestia IEC, Vilfand spoke about the reason for the warm weather in Russia. According to the expert, temperature records have been set in some regions against the background of Atlantic influence.
