The Center Group of Forces eliminated up to 530 AFU fighters in 24 hours

Over the past 24 hours, servicemen of the Russian troops group Center have eliminated up to 530 militants of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) and enemy military equipment. This was reported on January 18 by Denis Averin, senior officer of the press center of the grouping.

"The enemy lost up to 530 servicemen, a tank, six armored combat vehicles, including MaxxPro, eight vehicles and seven artillery pieces, including an M119 howitzer," he told RIA Novosti.

Averin added that Russian servicemen inflicted fire damage on equipment and manpower of six mechanized motorized Ukrainian motorized infantry brigades, as well as two brigades of the Ukrainian National Police Guard in the areas of Shcherbinovka, Petrovka, Dzerzhynsk, Novoizavetovka, Petropavlovka, Vozdvizhenka, Lysovka, Novovasilievka, Tarasovka and liberated Slavyanka.

Earlier, on January 17, it was reported that sniper pairs of the Ivanovo Guards Airborne Troops destroyed three "Baba Yaga" type unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) of the AFU overnight and disrupted the enemy's rotation near the refractory plant in the locality of Chasov Yar in the Donetsk People's Republic.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was made against the backdrop of the worsening situation in the region.
