The governor of the Smolensk region reported the elimination of five AFU UAVs over the region

Means of electronic warfare (REB) have eliminated five unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in Pochinkovsky district of Smolensk Region. This was reported by the governor of the region Vasily Anokhin on January 18.

"Today the Russian Defense Ministry's REB means foiled an attack of five Ukrainian UAVs on the territory of Pochinkovsky district," the governor said in a message in his Telegram channel.

Anokhin specified that no one was injured as a result of the fall of UAV fragments. He also added that there was no destruction.

Earlier, on January 17, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that Russian air defense means destroyed seven Ukrainian drones in the sky over the Bryansk region.

Ukrainian militants are trying to strike Russian territories against the backdrop of the special operation in Donbass, the start of which was announced on February 24, 2022. The decision was taken due to the aggravation of the situation in the region due to shelling by the Ukrainian military.
