The fire at the site of a gas explosion in a house in the Nizhny Novgorod region has been extinguished

The fire, which occurred as a result of an explosion of a gas-air mixture in the apartment of an apartment building in Nizhny Novgorod region, was eliminated on the area of 450 square meters. m. This was reported in the press service of the Russian Emergencies Ministry on January 18.

"The fire is completely extinguished," - stated in the message of the press service in the Telegram-channel.

It is specified that the area of the fire amounted to 450 square meters. m. At the site worked 120 specialists and 40 units of equipment.

About the gas explosion in an apartment building on Ogarev Street in Bogorodsk in the Nizhny Novgorod region became known earlier in the day. One person was killed, another suffered. The Russian Emergencies Ministry specified that 16 people were evacuated from the building, seven more were rescued. The investigation opened a criminal case on the fact of explosion of gas-air mixture in the apartment of an apartment building.
