In Bogorodsk, Nizhny Novgorod region, investigators have opened a criminal case over the fact of explosion of gas-air mixture in the apartment of an apartment building. This was reported on January 17 in the Investigative Committee of the Investigative Committee of Russia of the Nizhny Novgorod region.

"A criminal case has been initiated on the grounds of a crime under part 2 of article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Provision of services that do not meet safety requirements, causing the death of a person by negligence")", - stated in the message of the department in Telegram-channel.

The agency noted that at the scene of the incident investigators are questioning witnesses, appointing expert examinations, establishing the causes and circumstances of the incident. The situation is under personal control of the management of the investigative department.

Also in the prosecutor's office of Nizhny Novgorod region in Telegram-channel reported that they control the progress and results of the investigation. The head of the local government of Bogorodsky district Alexei Korotkov arrived at the scene. According to him, the issue of accommodation of evacuated tenants is being resolved.

"According to the information of the management company, 28 people are registered in the house, the number of residents at the moment in the house is being clarified. Provided buses for residents, organized work to identify the needs of residents in the provision of temporary accommodation," he explained in his Telegram-channel.

About the gas explosion in an apartment building on Ogarev Street in Bogorodsk in the Nizhny Novgorod region became known earlier in the day. One person died, one more was injured. The Russian Emergencies Ministry specified that 16 people were evacuated from the building, seven more were rescued.
