More than 4.5 thousand trees decorated outbound highways and major streets of Moscow

In 2024, more than 4.5 thousand trees were planted on outbound highways and major streets of Moscow. This was reported on Friday, January 17, by Deputy Mayor of the capital on housing and public utilities and landscaping Pyotr Biryukov.

According to him, planting trees and shrubs is one of the most important directions for the formation of a comfortable urban environment, and "landscaping of public spaces plays a big role, especially for such a huge metropolis as Moscow", writes "Moscow 24".

Specialists of the complex of urban economy of the capital select trees taking into account their ability to adapt to the complex conditions of the megalopolis and the visual appearance of landscaped spaces. Usually linden, maple, elm and ornamental apple trees are preferred to decorate highways and streets.

The largest number of trees was planted on Vernadsky Avenue - 713. 447 trees were planted on Nosovikhinskoye highway, 343 on Dybenko Street, RT writes. 335 trees appeared on Simferopol Boulevard, on Ostrovitanova Street - 324, on Leskova Street - 323, reports the Moscow city news agency .

In December it was reported that in Crimea since the beginning of 2024 planted 955 thousand trees. The area of planting amounted to 307 hectares.
