The most popular sedans among Russians are named

The best-selling sedan on the Russian market at the end of 2024 was Lada Granta, and the best-seller in the class among foreign cars was Geely Emgrand. This was reported by the analytical agency "Autostat" on January 17.

Lada Granta is on the first place in the rating with the result of 110.6 thousand sold cars. It is followed by Lada Vesta, the circulation of which amounted to 87.8 thousand copies. The third place was taken by Solaris HS (13 thousand units), which is a model of Hyundai Solaris and is produced at the plant in St. Petersburg under the domestic brand.

Geely Emgrand became the fourth in the overall standings and the first among foreign cars (11.8 thousand units). It is followed by two more Chinese sedans - Omoda S5 (11.2 thousand units) and Chery Arrizo 8 (11.1 thousand units).

Earlier in the day it was reported that since February 2024, when the ex-plant Hyundai in St. Petersburg began production of cars under the new brand Solaris, by the end of the year the company produced almost 22 thousand cars. A total of 19.2 thousand Solaris cars were sold from March to December.

Also on this day it was reported that by the end of 2024, the average cost of a used car in Russia fell to 2 million rubles, which is 12% below the level of January last year. Over the year, the average age of a used car increased to almost nine years, and the mileage approached 145 thousand kilometers.
