Forecaster predicts above normal temperature in Moscow in February
In Moscow in February, the air temperature will be above the climatic norm. This was reported on January 17 by Tatyana Pozdnyakova, specialist of the Meteonovosti agency.
In conversation with "Moscow 24" the forecaster noted that there is no exact forecast for the second month of winter yet, but seasonal forecast models indicate that February will be warmer.
"But how big the anomaly will be, it is difficult to say," aif.ru quoted Pozdnyakova as saying.
She added that temperatures will drop to negative values in the last five days of January. Meanwhile, frosts will not be strong, the temperature will remain above the typical for late January - early February. At night, the thermometer columns will show -3 to -10 degrees.
January 17, the head of the forecasting center "Meteo" Alexander Shuvalov told NSN that wet snow is expected on Epiphany in the capital, and next week it will cool down to -5 degrees. By Wednesday, the temperature is expected to rise again.
Earlier in the day, forecasters warned Muscovites of snow with rain on January 19. The temperature in the morning will be 0... +1 degree, will remain at this level until the evening, and at night will rise to +2 degrees. A moderate wind is expected, in the morning gusts will reach 5.5 m/s.
January 15, forecaster Eugene Tishkovets said that in the second half of winter, metropolitan temperatures may rise by 4-5 degrees above normal values, writes kp.ru. There is a possibility, he said, that by the end of January the weather will break a number of temperature records set over 100 years ago.
On the same day, the scientific head of the Russian Hydrometeorological Center Roman Vilfand admitted that February in the capital region will be warm, but it is possible and a drop in temperature to -10 ... -15 degrees. The forecaster recalled that at the beginning of the week in the capital and the region was winter weather. In Moscow, night temperatures ranged from -6 to -8 degrees Celsius, and in the region the thermometer column dropped to -10 degrees Celsius, reports 360.ru.
