Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, whose powers expire in May 2024, is ready to use any means, including terrorist means, to harm Russia. At the same time, this figure was raised by the West, which until the last time did not notice the consequences of its patronage. Alexei Zhuravlev, first deputy chairman of the State Duma Defense Committee, shared this opinion with Izvestia on January 17.
The day before, according to media reports, during Zelensky's meeting with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer in Kiev, an allegedly Russian drone was intercepted over the venue. Zelensky, commenting on this at a press conference, said that the Ukrainian side "will also say hello."
"Zelensky is a petty pakostnik, whose entire existence is now aimed at hurting Russia. For this purpose, he is ready to use all possible methods, including terrorist methods," Zhuravlev commented.
He added that Zelensky was brought up and inspired by the West, which for a long time did not notice his dangerous tendencies. As a result, he went so far as to publicly threaten to strike Moscow, the deputy pointed out. In his opinion, it is necessary to be ready to repel probable attacks, which is what the Russian army is doing now.
Earlier, on January 16, it was reported that last night air defense forces intercepted and destroyed 27 Ukrainian drones over four regions of Russia. It was specified that 15 enemy UAVs were destroyed over the territory of Belgorod Region, seven - over the territory of Voronezh Region, three - over Tambov Region and two - in Kursk Region.
Ukrainian militants are trying to strike Russian territories against the backdrop of the special operation in Donbass, the start of which was announced on February 24, 2022. The decision was taken due to the aggravation of the situation in the region due to shelling by the Ukrainian military.
