Every second Russian respondent talked about making a financial plan
Every second Russian respondent makes a financial plan for the year. This is stated in the results of a survey of the financial marketplace "Vyberu.ru", which were reported by "Izvestia" on January 19.
During the survey, experts found out that 56% of respondents make a financial plan for the near future during the January holidays. Last year there were only 32% of such Russians. In 2025, 45% of this group said that they plan monthly expenses and income, reserving the right to adjust the strategy during the year. At the same time, 33% believe that only a detailed plan is the key to a successful strategy; this group of respondents prescribes a detailed plan with cost justification, and also puts risks into it. In addition, 22% of respondents from this group resort to the help of specialized consultants to make a personal financial strategy.
Among the survey participants, 43% of citizens who plan their budget on their own tend to resort to the help of specialized programs and diaries that help to distribute the debt load. At the same time 37% turn for help to ordinary excel-tables, and 20% prefer to calculate the plan on paper, using for this purpose most often diaries.
In addition, 64% of respondents reported that they owe it to financial planning that they have saved a significant amount of money, and 22% admitted that thanks to financial planning they have corrected their credit history. At the same time, 14% of citizens noted that the financial strategy, prescribed at the beginning of the year, gives them a sense of stability and reduces anxiety.
Experts noted that women between the ages of 25 and 35 are most inclined to engage in planning. Last year, men in the same age range were the most likely to make a personal financial strategy. Residents of Moscow, the Moscow region and the Siberian Federal District are most interested in this procedure.
"An important role in the development of financial education is played by financial organizations themselves. Now practically every major bank maintains its client blog with an accessible breakdown of important financial issues. This encourages customers not only to start taking an interest in the topic of competent handling of money, but to try to influence their welfare by following the advice of the regulator and financial industry players", - said the executive director of "Vyberu.ru" Yaroslav Bajurak.
Earlier, January 10, it was reported that about 43% of respondents believe that financial goals should be discussed regularly or at least once every few months. This was stated in a study by VTB Bank. More than half of Russians (51%) set a goal to create a safety cushion for their family. About a third of respondents (34%) plan to save for the purchase of housing, and the main financial goal for 28% of respondents - to ensure a decent old age. In addition, a quarter of Russians (25%) seek to save for their children's education, and 8% want to buy housing for them.
